In this course, important environmental issues in the Indian context are explored from a legal point of view. Current laws and debates on legislation— related to the environment, the relationship between population and the natural environment, and the consequences thereof—are discussed. The course will include legal debates surrounding topical environmental issues such as mining, deforestation, management of water resources, pollution etc.
